dream on, dreamer.
The New York dream is in motion. I have 18 months left of my Bachelors Degree, 18 months to save my butt off and start living my dream in NYC.

I have the most amazing social life. For years, I’ve hidden behind who ever I was seeing at the time. Just gone along with whatever they want to do, hung out with all their friends, never really feeling comfortable. Now, I’m free to be myself, do whatever I want, see whoever I want, whenever I want! I’m having the time of my life, whether it be catching up over a cuppa, going out drinking or simply just sitting on the couch together, I always walk away smiling and feeling on top of the world. I have so many amazing friends and I am making a promise to myself from this day on to never ever ever neglect them or forget about them no matter where in the world we end up or who we end up with. I can honestly say that I wouldn’t be the strong person I am today if it wasn’t for the support of my amazing friends. I love you all.

10 things i would tell my former 18 year old self

1. One year away really isn’t that hard. Toughen up little lady and stick it out. Everyone is still going to be there when you get home and you’ll be a hell of a lot richer than you are now.

2. The people that matter to you now will only be a distant memory in two years time. Don’t get so wrapped up in their small town gossips and bitching.

3. You’re pretty and you’re really smart. Don’t be so jealous of every other girl that passes you by.

4. You’re 18. Not 30. Stop being a housewife. In fact, just move out of his place altogether. You’re way too young for this level of commitment.

5. DO NOT buy that puppy.

6. Keep up your health and fitness because you want to and it makes you feel good. Don’t do it because of the pressure you feel from him to have a good body.

7. You’re losing yourself. Stop now, I beg you. Be your own person, no matter what.

8. You hate your job. Quit.

9. Go out and have fun. Get drunk. Dance with your friends. Kiss some boys. That’s what you’re meant to do when you’re 18.

10. Listen to your mum.

here i am.

I write, constantly. Pages and pages of words, mostly for my eyes only. Unfortunately, hand-writing is time consuming. And time is precious. Thus I have jumped on the blogging bandwagon and started an online journal where the whole world can read my thoughts, musings, and occasional epiphany.

You may not give two hoots about what I think or what I have to say. That’s ok. I’m not here for you, I’m here for me. Writing (I guess now typing!) is how I function. I’m just your average 20 year old university student, with a bucket load of hopes and dreams and an even fuller bucket load of ambition.

I welcome myself to the blogging world.
